Why payload class decides everything
Sensors, LiDAR heads, cargo and fuel all compete for the same mass budget. Start from the payload list, not the airframe brochure.

Endurance at payload
Always read endurance figures with their payload condition — 12 h @0 kg is not 12 h @50 kg. beneuav tables state both (manufacturer specification).

Typical survey LiDAR heads run 2–15 kg; heavy multi-sensor fits 20 kg+. Match the class ladder above and confirm with the sensor datasheet.
Does payload cut endurance?
Yes — with-payload endurance is stated separately in every specification table (e.g. CQ90A: 10 h @0 kg / 4 h @20 kg, manufacturer specification).
